Christopher Crawford will gradate with a M.A. in Media studies
from the Department of Radio-Television-Film in summer 2008. He earned
a Bachelor of Journalism degree, magazine concentration, from the
University of Texas at Austin in May 2001. Crawford's graduate thesis
examines nationalism and identity in China and Taiwan against the
backdrop of the Beijing Olympics. His minor graduate work in journalism
has focused extensively on international reporting and covering the
borderlands. Crawford has written on topics ranging from history and
the Chinese film to strategic analysis of Texas political campaigns. He
was a staff writer for the Daily Texan in 2007 and interned with the
Austin Film Festival. Crawford lived and worked in Taipei, Taiwan from
2004 through 2006.
